President of Caner’s Alma Mater calls Mexicans “wetbacks”

Ergun Caner is famous for using racial slurs and ugly stereotypes in his “sermons.” In a similar vein, Lamar Cooper, the current President of Criswell College (Caner’s alma mater) has recently been forced to apologize for calling Mexicans “wetbacks.” Unfortunately, Coopers comment pales in comparison with Caner’s caricature of Mexicans which has been exposed by this post from the FBC Jax Watchdog blog:

“The Mexican students [at Liberty] and I get along real well. They’re my boys. I always joke with ’em, I say ‘Man, if I ever adopt, I want to adopt a Mexican because I need work done on my roof. [uncomfortable laughter], and, and uh, I got a big lawn…so, [nervous laughter].” Ergun Caner, Seattle, WA.

That is an exact transcript of Caner’s own words. The post above has the audio file.  A little Google search will yield many other disturbing examples.

I found the story of Lamar Cooper on the Huffington Post. Here is what I just posted in the comments to that article:

The behavior of Lamar Cooper is not surprising. He is President of Criswell College, the alma mater of Ergun Caner who is the current President of Liberty Baptist Seminary, associated with Falwell’s Liberty U. Caner has used terms like “towel head” and “sand n**ger” in his “testimony” about converting from Islam. …Said testimony has now been exposed as an outrageous fraud. Caner grew up in Ohio from about age 3, but invented a false history as a member of the “Islamic Youth Jihad” growing up in Turkey who came to America in 1978 “to do that which was done on September 11.” He rocketed to fame after 9/11 and wrote a fear-mongering book of ignorant anti-Islamic stereotypes called “Unveiling Islam.” Search Google blogs for “Ergun Caner” and you will get the full story.

I also posted this comment on an article about Cooper on the FoxNews site. It’s time to get the news out. Caner and Liberty U have been hiding the truth for too long. Caner’s lies and his book are doing real damage to the planetary community. His book is called “Unveiling Islam: An Insider’s look at Muslim Life and Beliefs.” Given Caner’s lies about growing up in the Islamic Youth Jihad in Turkey and his egregious use of racial slurs and stereotypes, the subtitle should read “An Outsider’s view of Islam based on Ignorant Stereotypes.”
