It brought me to sobbing tears (something that happens maybe once every 3 or 4 years when I am really moved by an inspired expression of overwhelming truth). Copyright laws stopped me from playing the video here in Oz. Which may have been a good thing for it made me concentrate totally on the words, Which no doubt probably would not do it justice, for much expression is lost without the oration and music from the author.
Just look at any Lenny Kravitz lyrical composure and you’ll get what I mean (sustanceless). It’s generally the same with most music. The spirit of muse sedates the audience while skillfully weaving it’s demonic spiritualism in subtle hints.
So on that note, sorry to be a killjoy for I’m sure it was a nice song to listen to, the content just didn’t cut it for me.

It’s reminiscent of typical new age jargon in my mind, no mention of God or the glory of his Son, claiming that, “There’s more to this than Love,”
From the last time I read the Good Book:
1. This world was created in Love,
2. It was corrupted by a lack of Love and
3. Was redeemed by “No greater Love, than to give his life for our filth and arrogance.”
Back in 2002 my wife was getting into a band called “George” a brother sister song writing team who are excellent musicians. I really enjoyed their concert and every time Mariana would play their music I felt my spirit strangely move, which I ignored. Then one day she insisted I read these lyrics believing it was some divine piece of song writing which spiritually coincided with God bringing us together.
After much badgering I began to read and to my amazement realized the Demonic references right through the whole song, which I never took notice of before. Then I read all the lyrics and could see a very dark Satanic theme woven through the whole album. This was a huge killjoy for her for she realized that her insistence cost her the right to ever play that crap again.
She doesn’t ask me to read lyrics anymore just in case I find something hidden within her favorite collection! But occasionally as women do, she comes across a piece written by some Christian Womans Group (like home schooling) and insists I get involved and get excited about the subject; instead the reverse happens. I know that this is Holy Spirit guiding, goading her to bring this ever so slight an infiltration of Satan to my attention. Which infuriates her in the beginning but eventually brings her to the understanding that I’m doing what I do best, being the Spiritual Leader of the Family.
My role is to stay firm, not get angry (which I struggle with), forgive her outbursts and be patient for her to come around, which nowadays happens a lot quicker than in the past.
So I encourage you to be a little more critical on the content of the music you listen to. I try to remember that the enemy knows who is versed in the Bible so he will always try to influence them somewhere through someone or something, it may seem sweet and nice but the intention is far from it. The level of Anger the person shows towards any criticism of the piece is a good indicator of how great a Demonic influence was subconsciously controlling the Author of such a work.
I believe Michael Yousef in this case, when he says,
“When I wake up in the morning and the Devil isn’t attacking me, I pause to think, maybe I’m traveling in the wrong direction!”
I believe people like yourself Richard (being in the public eye) get singled out for Demonic attack more often, because of your higher profile and your influence over more people than the average person. This is why it is said to “Pray for your leaders.”
So I reckon there’s no time like the present and if anyone else chooses to join in your most appreciably invited, for there is strength in numbers:
“Lord God creator of the Heavens, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; May you protect Richard and Rose from any increased Demonic attack due to this position of Leadership you’ve placed in their lives. Lord anoint their spiritual giftings that may include an even greater ability to discern evil spirits as they come. Place a fire of your Holy Spirit in their mouths, the sword of the Spirit, your Word Oh Lord, that when they rebuke these attacks the enemy will surely flee. May they continue to grow in Love for your Word and gain an Ever increasing understanding of the scriptures, for the Glory of your Kingdom, for your One and only church, ‘The Church Of God,’ as mentioned by Apostle Paul, in the name of your Son Jesus Christ, our lord and saviour, Amen!”

Thanks for the comments. They probably reflect what other Christians might be thinking.

As for “no mention of God or the glory of his Son” – it is the Christian cult leaders who use those terms to control the minds of the sheep. All they need to do is say “Duh Bible says … JuhEEZus told me … the Father needs your money …” and the sheep begin to nod their heads, close their minds, and open their wallets. The real follows of Jesus do not trumpet his name to bring attention to themselves as “men of God.”
The opening lyrics are designed to cause you to recall your childhood before you mind was closed by religious/cultural dogmatism, when you could imagine a world of beauty and truth, light and joy. When your heart was still tender so you could have real empathy for others regardless of race or creed. Consider these words:

The reference to ACME reminds us all of the cartoons we watched as children. The “Build-a-World-to-be” speaks of our primary calling from God – that we are to work together, united in God’s Spirit of Love and Truth for a better world. That’s why he sings “Help me to BELIEVE it.” In this world torn apart by violence driven by sectarian/religious dogmatism, we need NEW BELIEFS based on the innocent childlike love and wonder – the condition in which we were created. These are the beliefs taught by Christ in the Bible “Lest ye be as little children” ye can not enter the Kingdom of God.
I have yet to see any “wicked intention” in this song. But I am completely open to discussing it further with you.
And what anger are you talking about? Did you read that somewhere else?
I went through a similar phase after becoming Christian. Secular music had acquired a subtle sense of “wickedness” about it because it was singing of good things without mentioning Jesus. I’m glad I’m over that now. My eyes are open. Christians use “Jesus” to control others.
I think we have a lot to talk about here …. I am not aware of any “demonic attack.”

Hi Mick,
Good to see you over here visiting Richards Blog. I appreciate your concern over Richard and my protection from evil attacks by Satan because of our willingness to think freely and explore ideas, but I don’t think you have much to worry about. The whole “Satan control thing” is totally blown out of proportion – you have way more to worry about being in the institutionalized Church, with its leaders trying to control peoples minds then you do with people like us who have open minds that are seeking the truth.
One thing about the truth is that it stands invincible – when you find it, you know it! If there is an enemy called Satan who deceives people, I think he is kept plenty busy with keeping Christians in the bondage of fear. What you quoted from Michael Yousef is a good case in point.

I know exactly where Mariana is at, when I first became a Christian I felt led to “dump” all the secular music I liked just because it wasn’t Christian – and I would only listen to Christian music. I’m sure glad to be free from that – there is beautiful music outside of the Christian cover everywhere you look, just like there are beautiful people who are not Christians everywhere you look.
Let go of the bondage and walk in the freedom of Christ.
