My wife Rose and I were just talking about this verse. She is learning about the Greek words, Grace/Charis and how it relates to being thankful (eucharisteo). Today she suddenly started talking about how thankful she is for being thankful! It was quite beautiful to watch and share in her joy.

I checked your results and see that they depend on the case of the phrase "though faith". If we include the verses that begin with "Through faith" the total becomes 1002. The other phrases aren't case sensitive. What do you think this means? Personally, it makes me doubt there is any meaning in such "fragile" patterns. We have to combine four independent phrases and choose one of them to be case sensitive to find the number 999. How are we supposed to discern between God's design and random chance with methods like this?

There's no "maybe" about it! I have complete confidence that any sight I may receive will come from the Lord's hand, as it is written in the verse you've been looking at:

I know the name Jesus = 888 (which is a wonderful fact with deep meaning) and that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the man who sits on the throne in heaven. But I don't see how cherry picking the number of occurrences of lower-case "man" in conjunction with the word "number" helps verify that fact. Can you explain why you think it does? Can you answer, or has the Lord made your mouth "dumb"? Do you think it is a sin to ask such questions?

In any case, I praise God for the many beautiful numbers and verses you have linked. We share a love of numbers and Scripture. I have no doubt that God has encoded much of what you have seen. But I think it is important to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Case in point: I just used your method and got exactly 1332 (= Alpha Omega) occurrences of "Satan, devil*, evil*, Beelzebub, wicked, number". It looks like anyone can get any number they want playing this game. How exactly does this glorify God?

Brother Glen! I thank God that you feel free to speak your mind. Please forgive me if I've offended you in any way. It was never my intent.

I pray our Lord Jesus Christ will guide this conversation to bring peace between us and glory to God our Father.

I hope you believe me when I say that I have never questioned your faith in Christ, either publicly or privately. I've only asked questions about some specific methods of gematria and pattern finding. I didn't think my questions would be taken as challenging your faith, because our faith is in the living Lord Jesus Christ, not the patterns we think we've found in His Word (no matter how amazing they may seem).

As our brother Paul wrote: 1 Cor 13:8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

I am really glad you brought this up because it gives me an opportunity to share what God has been teaching me about REAL FAITH since he restored my faith and my soul last February. (I can't believe it's been a year already!)

When I fell away in 2011, people would ask why. I told them one of my main reasons was that "God is not trustworthy" and would explain that I could trust a dentist to fix a tooth and a garbage man to pick up my trash, but no one can actually trust God to do anything in any specific situation. I now see my error. I was thinking of "faith" in a transactional sense, as if God were a mere human obligated to serve me no matter how I felt about Him. That's not the FAITH taught in the Bible! During this last year our Lord has been teaching me REAL FAITH is an action of the soul, when I turn my heart towards God and say "Yes LORD. Save me! Forgive me! Be with me! Teach me to obey you! Teach me to love you!" Only when a soul has that kind of faith can one also trust the Lord in all things, and believe that "all things work together for the good, for those who love God and are called according to His purpose".

I can't tell you how much shame I felt when I realized I had compared the Lord God Almighty, the King of the Universe, the King of Glory ... to a garbage man!

Ironically, God chose to "take away my garbage" anyway! Thanks to the blood of Christ my Savior!

Now getting back to your point. Thomas wasn't doubting about doctrines or esoteric teachings or whether numbers proved the truth of Christ. He doubted because his FAITH was weak and he couldn't hear the TESTIMONY OF GOD within his heart about the resurrection of Christ. That's why Christ said " Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." They believe not because they have seen with their eyes but because they hear the Testimony of God's Spirit within their own hearts and so they KNOW. Just like when Christ told Peter:

"Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven."

That's what real FAITH is all about. It's an act of the soul that turns towards God in faith. And this I now can declare: GOD IS FAITHFUL and can always be trusted to receive any soul that turns to Him in faith. This I know. This I testify. I've lived it. Thjrty years ago, He opened my mind to much of the glory of His Word, and somehow I fell away. But I believe this was His will and totally necessary to break my pride and teach me what real faith is all about. I praise His name now and forever!

I'm really glad you brought this up, because I used be very uncomfortable with the story of Doubting Thomas because I thought it taught "blind faith" without "evidence." I didn't like that. I wanted evidence. I loved patterns and proofs more than faith in the living God. Now I see the truth! I see that the FAITH the Bible teaches is the FAITH of GOD! God is absolutely faithful to answer any soul that turns to Him in faith. And then His Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are children of God and we KNOW the truth without any need for external "proofs"! There's no end to the glory of the Gospel.

When God woke me up, He restored the knowledge I had before I lost faith (just like He restored Nebuchadnezzar's understanding after his seven years eating grass like a dumb ox). And like Nebuchadnezzar, I say:

Dan 4:34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: ... Dan 4:37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

Finally, I've never claimed to be one who could "decide the rules of mathematics". If you look at my posts, you will see that I asked questions, and gave reasons for the things I have said. The "rules of mathematics" are established by God and/or logical necessity. They have nothing to do with me, except in as much as I seek to conform my mind to the truth. Of course, I understand how you could expect that of me, given my behavior in years past.

Thank you for your kind and understanding words Glen. Anyone who knew me "from before" has good reason to feel defensive - I often went overboard in my online argumentation. But by the grace of God I am a changed man. I am now on a first name basis with LJ (aka "SonofZion232") and I know God's Spirit will knit all our hearts together (including Alex and you) so that we can all come together in the unity of Christ to bring glory to God the Father.

You words are wise. Who am I to judge? I have erred greatly in judging the gifts that God has given to other members of His body. It's like the gift of tongues - the fact that I can't always understand them does not mean they are not of God. You, Alex and LJ obviously feel the Spirit of God speaking to you in the numerical tongues. I will honor that.

I felt a bit like Paul. I was worried that people would see "numerical tongues" as a kind of madness. But I went way overboard, and tried to impose my natural understanding - the "wisdom of the world" - over gifts that I knew nothing about. I thank you for helping me to understand my error.

I feel the Spirit of God is doing a great work in me and this tiny little forum of ours. Gone are the days of the "Feisty Host" who would swing his sword at everything he perceived as contrary to the intellectual "wisdom of the world" that he preferred over the foolishness of God. I believe EVERYONE on this forum can come together in the unity of the body of Christ. I pray our Lord make this so, despite my many failings. In the name of Christ I pray, AMEN.

Seeing that I am 70 yrs of age, I have learned that you cannot change another person. The Word I receive from the LORD is:

My first day, when I was in Physics Class in college, the instructor spend 2 and half hours writing on the board without
saying a word. Nothing made any sense to me and it all look like gibberish. There where 35 students and everyone was dumbfounded. 9 of those passed the course. I failed and took it a second time. I believe the instructor showed me grace
since I didn't miss a day and she saw my time and effort to learn. I passed the second time by 1 pt.
