    and not to be overlooked:

    "nineveh" = 121

    "tarshish" = 1210

    by fleeing to Tarshish he in fact did the inverse of tithing

    The full value of "tarshish" beiong 1656 (406+510+360+20+360) the amount of years before the flood.

    Tarshish ships had brought king Solomon 666 talents of gold every year (1 Kings 10:14.22)

    The number 666 having to be understood in the context of tithing --

    both in Genesis 26:12 ("meah sh'arim"= hundredfold = 666) as in the parable of the sower "30 - 60 - 100 fold)

    Note that Jacob vowed to pay tithes before there was a temple
    Genesis 28:22,

    Then this stone, which I have placed as a monument, shall be a house of God, and everything that You give me, I will surely tithe to You.

    Tarshish תרשיש

    https://www.abarim-publications.com/.../Tarshish.html

    שש

    There's an odd correlation between the color white and the number six. The nouns שש (shesh) and שיש (shayish) mean alabaster, which is a whitish translucent material. The identical word שש (shesh) means six. The noun שושן (shushan) describes the lily, which has six leaves and is proverbially white. The adjective ישש (yashesh) or ישיש (yashish) means old or white-haired.

    שֵׁשׁ (shesh; Strong's 8336) comes from שַׁיִשׁ (shayish; Strong's 7893), meaning to bleach or whiten. Thus shesh can indicate white/bleached clothe (byssus/linen), or white stone (alabaster/marble).
    makes very much thinlk of Mark 9:2-3,

    And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one on earth could bleach them.

    Ships were launched there, in order to bring gold back to the Land of Israel.

    The atbash of Tarshish is 48 ( 1 + 3 + 2 + 40+ 2) - and that should be why the book of Jonah is written with 48 verses.

    Jonah 2:8 being the 24th verse - written with 343 words.

    The first word of Jonah 2:9 being the 344th word, whle the entire book is written with 688 words.

    So this word "m'shamrim" belongs qua verses tot the second half of the book Jonah and qua words to the first half.

    jonah 2:9,
    מְשַׁמְּרִ֖ים הַבְלֵי־שָׁ֑וְא חַסְדָּ֖ם יַֽעֲזֹֽבוּ
    , "m'sharim havlei-shaw chasdam ya'azovu" Those who keep worthless futilities abandon their kindness.

    I thought these were the nitpickers mentioned in Matthew 23:24, Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

    the camel being the same that goes with more ease through the eye of a needle than a rich man,

    We saw it as being related the giving of tithes ; like also we saw the fleeing to Tarshish as being the reverse or opposite of the giving of tithes.

    "gamal"= camel

    "gomel chesed" = benefactor

    One of the three pillars of Judaism is Gemilut Chasadim (Avot 1:2) or doing good for others.
