Alexios I Komnenos and The Call For a Crusade

Alexios I Komnenos reigned until the early 12th Century. At the end of the 11th Century he successfully persuaded the West to join them to battle against the Turks, thus it was the beginning of the Crusades. Similarly Ahab the king of Israel persuaded Jehoshaphat king of Judah to fight against the Syrians. Jehoshaphat considered Judah and Israel to be one, united.

Since Alexios reigned from the end of the 11th Century to the beginning of the 12th, it reminds me of the 11th chapter of the 12th book 2Kings where the people along with the High Priest actually supported the coronation of the young Joash against the queen Athaliah. In this case the people supported, along with the empress to adopt Alexius and his brother into her family to prepare them for royal duty:
