Like all of bible-history is not historical in worldly sense.

(Like man created 5775 years ago --only in biblical sense, not historical)
sylvius, you might as well say that the Bible is speaking in tongues, and you and Rashi have the the real pipe dream interpretation. How convenient.

Hatach in the Esther-scroll is said to be Daniel, connecting the "inner" of the palace, where Esther ("I am hidden") was.and the "outside", where Mordechai was.

    Esther 4,
Then Esther summoned Hatach, [one] of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed before her, and she commanded him concerning Mordechai, to know what this was and why this was. So Hatach went forth to Mordechai, to the city square, which was before the king's gate. (...). And Mordechai told him all that had befallen him (...)And the copy of the writ of the decree that was given in Shushan he gave him, to show Esther and to tell her, and to order her to come before the king to beseech him and to beg him for her people. And Hatach came, and he told Esther what Mordechai had said. And Esther said to Hatach, and she ordered him to [tell] Mordechai: (...) And they told Esther's words to Mordechai. And Mordechai ordered to reply to Esther, (...)then Esther ordered to reply to Mordechai...) So Mordechai passed and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.

Hatach is said to have been killed by Haman, as soon as he found out that this connection between the inner and the outer existed. (TB Megillah 15a; Midrash Rabbah Esther 8:4)

Since then there is this "time-gap" called "sod Daniel".

Haman being the one to have eaten from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, after Genesis 3:11, And He said, "Who told you that you are naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?"
    " from the tree " = הֲמִן הָעֵץ, "hamin haets" -- "hamin" = Haman.

Hatach (Chatach) from a verb meaning "to cut down" ("chatoch").

i.e. By eating from the tree of knowledge the connection between "inner" and "outer" (meaning) had been cut down.

sylvius, congratulations, you can now take a trip and never leave the farm. You have exchanged the truth of the Bible, built upon sound chronologies, and objective facts, for a quantum view of Scripture, with total uncertainty of correlation between historical events, where biblical history is not real history, upon which you can build any subjective world you desire. You would fit in well with the tongues crowd, and the modern apostles and prophets movement of the modern pseudo-church.

Where do your sound chronologies lead to?

They lead to the truth of the Bible, real chronologies in time and space, not some conjured up subjective dream of human invention.

What do you mean by "the" Bible? As far as I can tell, you think the Old Testament is true without question, whereas the New Testament is wrong about many things.
    • Skepticism is the antiseptic of the mind.
    • Remember why we debate. We have nothing to lose but the errors we hold. Who but a stubborn fool would hold to errors once they have been exposed?

Truth must be eternal. It cannot be that what today is true tomorrow turns out to be a lie.

Truth is that in no way of time-reckoning Daniel predicted the violent death of Jesus nor the destruction of the Temple in the year 70 CE.

Truth is that christian "scholars" (?) who came to such conclusions play games with the text of Daniel 9, like also dpenn does.

After pointing out several times that "the commandment" (or "decree") of v.25 is the same as the one mentioned in v. 23. (Hebrew has "davar" = word), he just went on with his (by his chrisitna teachers inspired) sound chronologies.

It is not sound but sick, making out of Jesus the murderer / rapist / destroyer of Jerusalem and the Temple.
