The letters HEI and YUD

The 5th letter of the Hebrew alef-beyt - HEI - means to BEHOLD, LOOK SEE and is representative of 'thoughts, words, and action'. Because its pronunciation is as your breath, it is also the beginning of sound.

The 10th letter YUD is the smallest of all letters and appears as a superscripted 'floating comma'. YUD means HAND - as God's hand that is 'thrust in friendship' - a 'handshake' that seals the bond of covenant. Because of it's minute form as a dot it is called the 'infinite point' and it is the beginning and end of every letter - thus the beginning of script. YUD also marks a birthing - a physical beginning observed as the Word made flesh.

What is to note here is that the construct form of HEI is actually YUD DALET (the full spelling of YUD).

The connection between the Yod and "script" makes me think of Scripture and Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot (yod) or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law (Scripture), till all be fulfilled.

This is a good mnemonic ... you have the number 58 = 43 (John) + 1 + 14 and the verse is all about God's Grace and His Glory. Well that's nicely encoded in this pair of idenities:

Grace (Chen ) = 58 = The Glory of the Lord (Kavod YHVH )

I think that equation deserves some meditation. Its always been one of my favorite identities. I talk about it in the Gematria Reference under the Number 58.

I'm finding noteworthy the summing of the three coordinates of each verse you cite. Can you see the relationship between the verse that speaks of "the power of the tongue" and the number 59 that Richard speaks about? I'm completely stunned by this. It was the first thing I noticed in your post. And there is the also the link to 17 = Pey = Mouth. Mind boggling!

I'm giving you a hint in case you haven't noticed. The other verse you quote, John 1:14 sums up to 58. The 58th book, Hebrews, is the one book that goes into great detail about the body of Jesus, which is directly connected to the subject of John 1:14. That's deep!

59 as the 17th prime is PEI /mouth confirming 'life and death are in the power of the tongue'. 59 is also the book number of James (Hebrew/Jacob) and James 3 speaks of the 'untamable tongue'. 20 is the value of KAF reminding us that we are to take our words captive to the Word of God 20/REISH offering 18 righteous 21 fire - unlike Nadab and Abihu Lev 10:1 (14) who offered profane fire. I pray that as we walk in the Word of God, our words will be anointed in the power of the Spirit just as Jesus (Luke 4) went into the wilderness 'full of the Spirit' and returned in the 'power of the Spirit'.

58 being the number of GRACE is the picture of 'Christ-life' we are called to. It is not a mystical airy substance but literal experiential Christ-life. We are saved by walking in 'Christ-life' - chet/Nun Sof -
or simply put: Nun/kingdom chet/life.

So - that was what I was thinking.

I didn't think about the book of Hebrews being about the 'body of Jesus' so I will bury that in my heart. Thanks. I think about it as Jesus the High priest. Also I'm glad the numbers blessed you rather than confused you. I was praying that they would mean something to the readers that would spark a revelation of seeds already planted in hearts. For me they are an unfolding revelation - like mile markers or 'turn here' signs.

This is REALLY getting interesting! Just a couple weeks ago, on May 26, 2007, I got an email from a pastor. Note the text in red:

Hi Richard,

You asked for more of my insights. Since it is continuous, now that the Bible wheel has unlocked a door in Wisdom's House, Prov 24:3-6, to rooms filled with riches, I can only "count" so high before I have to stop for a brain rest. (try the chapter, verse and sum principle on the above scriptures for a real mind-blowing experience)

Chapter-verse correlations

The thought came to me while meditating on how well the chapter and verse numbers relate to the alphabet's symbolic meanings, that perhaps the sum of the chapter and verse numbers would also be a confirmation of the thought espressed in the scripture being reviewed. I kept thinking about a Watchman Nee book I had read several years ago entitled, Christ, The Sum of All Things. I got the sum of the verses I shared with you in my previous email, Heb 6:10, the sum is 16(Ayin, eye of God), of course He will not forget our good works because the eyes of the Lord are ever on the righteous. Gal 6:9, the sum is 15(Samek, foundation) We can "be not weary in doing good" because of the foundation of God's eternal law of reaping and sowing.

When I researched the Bible for "sum" I found Ps 119:160
The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting. NASV

I looked up sum in the Hebrew to find it is rosh meaning head. How ironic of God that rosh means beginning and sum. "The sum of Your Word is Truth"(Jesus is the Word, Truth, the beginning and the end(sum)!

1+1+9=11(kaph) The open giving hand extended to the poor. All of Ps 119 is about the riches of God's Word given to the person who will admit they are poor is spirit, and the ultimate Word given for man's redemption.

1+6+0=7(zayin) the sword, Eph 6:17 and Heb 4:12(Check out the chapter,verse, sum principle on these two passages) The Word is the sword of the Spirit!

11+7=18(tzaddi)righteousness! Christ fulfilled the Law(righteousnes ordinances) and He is everlasting! Hallelujah!

I then started thinking what if the sum is more than 22? I tried different chapterverse sums of the higher numbers but after a looking at a few they were all equal to or less than 22. Then I looked at Ps 119:176 which adds up to 25. I asked the Holy Spirit for insight and He said, "Look at the sum of the numbers in the chapter and then the sum of the numbers in the verse.
I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, For I do not forget Your commandments.

1+1+9=11,Kaph the open hand extended to the poor(lost sheep)
1+7+6=14,Nun the perpetual priesthood of Jesus for lost sheep! Joshua the son of Nun! Ex 33:11

"I do not forget your commandments". The Nun(14th letter) section of Ps 119 is all about this sentence!

I then began to meditate on Ps 119 adding up to 11(Kaph) the open hand extended to the poor. I remembered Is. 49:16
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

His hand is always open to us because of the nail prints(engraving) in His palms(Kaph)

4+9=13 the love of God flowing to us like a river(of blood). His love toward us makes Him always mindful of the condition of ourselves(walls) and always has the remedy.

1+6=7 the sword of the Spirit is the Word, the sword pierced His side and blood and water came out! His glorified body retains the nail prints and a pierced side, so of course He will not forget us(v 15).

13+7=20 Resh, the head, the sum!!! Is 49:16 is the sum of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Word!

I hope you can understand my ramblings. Please correct any thing you see that needs it.

So there it is! Another "temporal coincidence" of the direction we are studying the Word.

Gives a whole new meaning to the "communion of the saints". We are ONE in Christ Jesus and He guides our very thoughts! We partake of the Mind of Christ.

He is both the Priest and the Sacrificial Offering. Truly amazing .... He is our "all in all" ....

Hebrews 10:9-14 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 ¶ And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

The final letters are also numbered ordinally as KAF Sof 23, MEM Sof 24, NUN Sof 25, PEI Sof 26, and TZADI Sof 27.

I look at these in prophetic fulfillment as 23 KAF Sof, the Word made flesh, 24 MEM Sof, the arrival of Messiah, 25 NUN Sof, Christ, heir to the throne, returning as King ruling and reigning the kingdom, 26 PEI Sof, by the Sword of His mouth, 27 TZADI Sof final righteousness - the kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Here are some passages that show that one of the themes of Hebrew is the body of the Lord, his sacrificial offering:

Heb 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

I liked your comments on Isaiah 49:16 - very insightful

ISAIAH 49:16
"Behold I have inscribed you in the palm of my hand, your walls are continually before me" - 4916 happens to be my house number - and the walls pertain to the Sukkah which I built every year starting in 1998 - 9 x so far - according to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. That's on a personal note but then should we not connect the WORD of GOD to our daily life and find the link to Heaven through HIS WORD from Heaven to Earth? Thanks again for all the insights.
