Not from this world...from the other side

    Digitally 1 and 2

A reporter received a news that there is a one-year old boy that can count digitally like a computer. But instead of counting by 0s and 1s like in computing, he counts by 1s and 2s.

One day, the reporter visited the boy and asked him the following questions:

Reporter: "Hi boy, I understand you can count like a computer in 1s and 2s, now I will ask you some questions to understand your counting system more, is it ok?"

    Boy: "OK."

Reporter: "Now, how much is 1?"

    Boy: "1".

Reporter: "OK, now how much is 2?

    Boy: "2".

Reporter: "OK, now how much is 3?"

    Boy: "1,2".

Reporter: "Good, how much is 5?"

    Boy: "2,2,1".

Reporter: "Good, how much is 6 then?"

    Boy: "2,2,2".

Reporter: "Good, How much is 8 then?"

    Boy: "2,2,2,2"

Reporter: " Very Good! Now tell me how much is 1 million?".

    Boy: "2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2........."

    Reporter: "OMG!"

That's why God gave us 10 fingers to make counting easier, and we also have 10 toes in case you need to count higher than 10.
And counting by 10s and 0s i.e. base-10 system give us the metric system also known as the decimal system.
And counting by 1s and 0s which numbers are found in 10 give us the binary system.

Sometimes we ask ourselves, do we really requires 10 fingers and 10 toes? If not, what are the extra digits on our hands and feet for? One obvious reason is for calculation which all of us started since childhood by counting our fingers. Note also that birds usually have 3 toes on their feet and many animals have 4 digits on their hand or feet. Even scientists cannot explain why we have 10 fingers and 10 toes:

    Praise God's wisdom. Amen.

    Ask and You shall receive,
    Seek and You shall find,
Knock and the door will be open unto You.
