    and that that's why it is written to seven churches, and not to four or five or six, or nine.

    Eight is Hebrew "sh'monah", clearly related to "shemen", oil, the essence of the light (of the candlestick) and also main substance of the anointment.

    Who Knows Eight?

    That the overt miracle of Chanuka, the lighting of the Menorah, lasted for eight days, is not accidental, but intrinsic. The Torah informs us that G-d created the world in six days and ceased working on the seventh, the Shabbat. The number six can thus be said to represent the natural world that was created in six days (time) with its six spatial directions (east-west, north-south, up-down). The number seven represents G-d's immanence, the hidden presence of the Divine at the heart and core of this world. In other words, seven is the very soul of six, permeating it, instilling it with (transcendent) holiness, and elevating it to its perfection. The next number, eight, represents G-d's transcendence above and beyond this world. Like all miracles, Chanuka happened from the level of "eight", that which is beyond natural law. However, being the last miracle of its kind until the coming of Mashiach, Chanuka had to embody "eight" in a unique, special way. It had to breathe "eight".

    In Hebrew, the word shemonah (eight) has the same exact letters as hashemen (the oil), neshama (soul), and mishna (transmitted teaching).

    Except that he doesn't mention the number 666 (which stands central in the book of Revelation) as being the gematria of "yom shishi", sixth day that lacks the hidden presence of the Divine (in the initial letters of "yom hashishi vayƧhulu hashamayim").

    The oil "shemen" being produce of the olive, and the olive being produce of the sixth day, after Deuteronomy 8:8,
    a land of (1)wheat and (2)barley, (3)vines and (4)figs and (5)pomegranates, a land of (6)oil producing olives and (7)honey,

    The olive has to be pressed to obtain the oil.

    Pressing is Greek θλῖψις

    F.e. also Matthew 24:29-30,
    Εὐθέως δὲ μετὰ τὴν θλῖψιν τῶν ἡμερῶν ἐκείνων,

    Which is about the light of the first day, since "the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky"
    and : "they will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. "


    The pressing happens in Getsemane = "gat sh'manim" = oil press.

    To me, there are many reasons ( also the "two sticks" referenced elsewhere in scripture) why the two witnesses would be the two "brothers/brotherhoods" of Judah and "Ephraim" (south and north), but the fact that it would reflect back to the book of Kings in particular would not be surprising. Kings= MLKH= "messengers" . And the Hebrew word for "congregation" also comes from the word that has the same root for "witness".
