The word genea, translated as Generation in Matthew 24:34,
can also mean race, but, we have to consider the context of
the verse. The disciples are asking Jesus for a Sign of his coming
and the End of The age. Not much of a Sign would it be if
Jesus had said, "sometime before the Jewish race dies out".
Most believe that the context of the verse is better served by
translating genea to mean generation.
Since the Signs weren't fulfilled in the generation to whom Jesus
was speaking, reading the verse to mean that the generation of
people being born at the time of the first Signs, would still be alive
(70 to 80 yrs later)at the time of The Lord's return makes the most
sense,...and the digits of Pi seem to clearly confirm the general
concencus that the rebirth of Israel in 1947/48 really was the start
of the final generation leading to the 70th week of years!
