View Full Version : Ultimate Justice

The "eternal punishment" idea of religions like Christianity and Islam are obviously unjust, and hence immoral.

I think the truest form of ultimate justice would be for each person to experience the full consequence of their actions in their own body. For example, a rapist would experience the effect of his rape as if he were the victim. Thus the "sinner" would learn empathy and be truly redeemed. And so the very process of achieving justice would also redeem the world and be a force for good. Of course, this is just a pipe dream. The most likely truth is that we simply cease to exist when we die. I see no reason to think there is an "ultimate justice" after we die. But if there were, it wouldn't be anything like that taught in the religions.
