Here are two very interesting videos on the awareness of being treated unfairly and unequally in monkeys. What came to mind as I was watching these videos, is that if monkeys are aware when they are being treated unfairly and unequally, just think of how much more aware humans are when they are treated unfairly. The Bible is a perfect example of the unfair and unjust treatment of women being condoned and promoted by god.

The sense of fairness becomes more pronounced with a larger brain. I think there is a correlation with intelligence. This video shows a monkey's advanced ability to solve a puzzle.
