1421: The Year China Discovered the World
Gavin Menzies
Published by Bantam Press, London
In his first book, 1421, Gavin Menzies argues that a huge Chinese fleet circumnavigated and charted the world years before the first great European voyages of discovery.*The evidence for this comes in many different forms: from shipwrecks and ancient maps, to local peoples accounts and*their DNA.

Obviously, the famous Admiral Cheng Ho of the Ming Dynasty traveled vastly to South East Asia and South Asia and the East coast of Africa. His ships may also have ventured to the West coast of North America and South America as Chinese potteries of that period were discovered there. Some Chinese may have settled there as well.
