Are the stories in the Bible true? Can Christianity be proven genuine?

    Hello folks.

Richard and I have had some interesting discussions about Christianity as to whether or not the Bible can be true. Truth is, from a historical standpoint, it's very difficult to prove indeed. I suppose this is where faith comes into play.

The Old Testament tells us the story of Moses, how he was chosen by God to free the slaves from Egypt, and how Moses takes them to Mt. Sinai after crossing the red sea. Has this mountain ever been found? Perhaps, but I'll let you be the judge. I'm not yet convinced as this video could be just another long list of hoaxes from other Christians. But I've got to tell you, it's compelling.

Richard? Care to view this video? You might.....just might....be surprised.

Israel is more than just a race; it is more than just a nation; it is the people of God, from faith, by faith, and only faith. Those who assemble in the name of Christ Jesus, embrance Israel because they are Israel

    Hi Joe,

I think this is a great topic. I'll write more on it tomorrow. But I just watched that video and found it sorely lacking in evidence. The names of the people giving testimony in the video were not given and no supporting evidence beyond mere assertions about the clips was given. It seems a lot like the videos made by charlatans pretending to have found Noah's ark. Folks like that have been duping gullible Christians for a long time. I've seen some of the clips used in the video somewhere before, and I vaguely recall that they were debunked, but I can't remember their names and the video didn't give them so I can't confirm this right now.

If you can find a legitimate presentation of the data, I will look into it more.

    All the best,

    Richard

    Hey there my friend,

I'm glad you at least took the time to view the video. I myself might be a little skeptical of the video as well. However, as with most suspicions, we should at least consider the video authentic until proven otherwise. At this point, I'm not FULLY convinced, but I am quite intrigued by this potential discovery. If it is found to be true, then this could perhaps be one of the most important discoveries in human history, proving the Bible's authenticity. Not that I doubt the Bible's truthfulness, but I know that there are many men like Thomas who simply would not believe the Lord was resurrected until he was able to touch the Lord. We're not mimicking Thomas's behavior, are we?

P.S. The Lord God is one, and he loves more than one; this includes you.

Hi Joseph, Eleven with your name in the Bible--like the first Joseph was the 11th son, and the meaning was "the Lord will add a son" -- eh? Personally I'm fond of Thomas because I don't want to take someone elses word for
something so important -- had to see for myself!

So cool, so thats where the sea divided, and the Rock was hit. The geysir could expalain the watering for 2 million plus people in a desert land. Would like to see more research on that, because if this is true, the bible has a way of showing its validity, now in our sceptic knowlegde times that we are in.

If not, the symbols alone shows validty, as for example of the Rock being hit one time as God said as a symbol of Jesus being crucified once, and that God was angry when Moses hit the Rock the second time, when God has commanded only one time, and if thet neede more, Moses was to speak instead of hitting the Rock.

    Hello Roberto

My understanding is that Moses failed to sanctify God before he struck the rock. Numbers 20: 10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

It is also interesting that Moses was instructed to take Aaron's rod ,but was not instructed to strike the rock, rather Moses was to speak to the rock.

Numbers 20:7 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water,

The reason Moses did not sanctify God was because he was angry with the people. He faile to control his anger which resulted in him striking the rock instead of speaking to it. I do not think it is the number of times he struck the rock though we should never discount the word of scripture when it tells us he struck the rock twice.

Although I knew of the fact that Moses failed to sanctify God for performing this miracle, I had not taken notice of the fact that God told him to speak to the rock instead of striking it.

    CHRIST IS THE ROCK!

Christ is the Rock, and he's the answer, 1Cor10:4
    He's the shining light.. Acts9:3
Christ is the Rock, Christ is the answer, Gen28:18
He's the Bread of Life. Jn6:51

They say that honey comes from bee's, but the answer's on my tongue.. Ps81:16
"I get my HONEY FROM THE ROCK, so I'm sure I won't get stung! Rev10:10
The honey that opened Jonathan's eyes has also opened mine, and the 1Sam14:29
Word of God now tastes so sweet that I crave it all the time! Pr24:13

They say that water comes from rain, and that it's mainly in the plain, Hos6:3
but I get my WATER FROM THE ROCK, so I will never thirst again. Ex17:6
It's not the water in the well; No, this comes from Galilee.. Jn4:14
It's been poured out from God above, so naturally it's free! Ps22:14

They say that oil lubricates, and is pumped up from the ground, Dt32:13
but I get my OIL FROM THE ROCK...it's a gusher that I've found! Job29:6
That old oil covered up the flesh, and messed up Aaron's beard, but you Ps133:2
need the new oil for your lamp, when the bridegroom does appear. Matt25

They say that fire burns and kills--it's definitely HOT...but the Judg6:21
Word of God tastes extra good with the (new) FIRE FROM THE ROCK! Judg13:20
Don't let your sacrifice get cold; No, keep it piping hot.. Rom12:1
On the altar for burnt offerings, with fire from the Rock. Gen22:7

Now they ate lamb, but we eat bread; as spirit succeeds flesh,
The STONE that they rejected has become our righteousness.
Follow first the fire, if you want to see the cloud; It's the
Great Light that follows the darkness that eliminates the shroud!

Samson's HONEY is in stock, for those who want it from the Rock,
and for those who'll take a stand, there's still the WATER of Naaman.
The OIL of gladness yet abounds in churches where the Rock is found..
So grab your Bible, light a shock...the FIRE still comes from the Rock!

Christ is the Rock, and he's the answer, Ps18:31
He's the firstfruit from the dead.. Lev23:10
Christ is the Rock, Christ is the answer, 1Cor15:24
He's the Lifter of my Head. Ps3:3

Compare the Exodus account and the Numbers account... maybe more too?
