There are a couple of relevant articles on this topic on the HuffingtonPost.

Testing Prayer: Can Science Prove the Healing Power of Prayer?

    And a followup:

What Counts as Legitimate Scientific Research on Prayer?

Same as I can say, Can Science prove the validity of the BibleWheel?

What Counts as Legitimate Scientific Research on the BibleWheel?

Can the BibleWheel be trustworthy written by someone who does not believe in the Bible?

Science, Science, Science....Science is all about the study of God's Creation - Creationology.

God's Blessings of the knowledge of Creationology to all.

Sure science could prove or disprove the Bible Wheel. Why not?

I was a believer when I wrote the Bible Wheel book so that point is irrelevant. It's also an example of the Genetic Fallacy. The truth or falsehood of a proposition is not determined by the beliefs of the person who said it. For example, anyone who says that 1 + 2 = 3 is correct even if they don't "believe" in mathematics.

    Creationology is nothing but Idiotology.

Now numerous scientific studies show that prayer does work and a belief in God is good for you. In the article a one-time atheist became a regular worshipper after doing in-depth study of the medical benefits of faith.

So in his studies would that include the group of Islamic that pray to Allah? If so then that would seem that in his study any positive thinking is what is meant to be a health benefit. That is in praying bring about hope which in turns bring about a postive outlook. That positive outlook is what bring about an healthy lifestyle.

That's a big problem with all the prayer studies. They look for patterns that could just as well be due to positive "energy" being generated by a person in meditation or whatever. They never do a statistical analysis of real prayers, like "Dear Lord, please heal my daughter's broken leg" or something like that which can be objectively verified. If they did that, the stats would instantly prove that God never answers prayers.

It's really obvious that God does not answer prayers since the alternative is that he refuses to heal amputees for some mysterious reason.

I'm guessing the positive energy from hoping that something would come about is the key to his study. I wonder how that would play out with an amputee? I know a couple of amputees that really have great positive outlooks and can do about anything that I can do..some even better, yet they have come to accept it.
