Most people are familiar with the two-slit quantum experiment that demonstrates how quantum particles like electrons and photons (light) behave as both "waves" and "particles." Whether you are familiar with this phenominon or not, I highly recommend this video by Dr. Quantum. He really lays it out with great clarity:



So how does this apply to the brain? Synapses are spaces between neurons! The essence of our mnd is made up of gaps - slits - between neurons. The input from Reality "out there" is processed by passing through this hundred-billion-slit device (brain) to form interference patterns that react back upon itself to represent the Reality "out there."

I'm not a brain scientist and I don't know if this idea has any merit, but it sure is intriguing. It's nice to start the day off with a whole new way of looking at our mysterious brain.
