The Living Dead
HEADLINE
Romans 7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. 9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. 12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

When we look at our HEADLINE texts we see that IN A TECHNICAL SENSE human beings engaged in sin-works as slaves to devils who master them are "dead". These are people around you every day with carnal minds and think in the same way as the average man thinks. They are not physical "zombies", but these go to work every day and are "normal" human beings. And normal human beings are "mastered" by devils who manage their works. Some are partly dead and partly alive. To be dead to God is not to have God's thoughts, ways, and behavior viable in you at all times. To be a "sinner" at times and obedient to God only part of the time is to be half-dead, a spiritual zombie.
Because our bodies are clay encasements, we carry our personal graves with us every day wherever we go. Where me are called "lively stones", we move about in our stone tombs at all times. And where men are called "trees of righteousness", we reside in our personal wooden coffins while we are alive. All three of these analogies refer to the human body in which our immortal spirits reside. With these concepts fixed in your mind, let us answer the question Paul asked in our HEADLINE, "who shall deliver me from the body of this death"? I know Paul answered it himself in Romans 7:25. He thanked Jesus for doing it. But in this document we want to see HOW JESUS DELIVERS FROM THE BODY OF THIS DEATH.
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
John 5:20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. 21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. 25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 4 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Ecclesiastes 4:2 Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive. 3 Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.
Isaiah 66:18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. 21 And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD. 22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
CONCLUSION
The above scriptures show how the Father-Son Saviors raise the dead who are really the "living dead". They simply withdraw the immortal spirits of men (the children) from their walking clay graves, stone tombs, and wooden coffins and bring them to the "Barn of Heaven". Men generally have funerals to bury the same clay graves, stone tombs and wooden coffins that are the bodies of men. This is what happens when the angelic REAPERS collect those who are scheduled to PASS OVER on any given day, Matthew 13:24-30. As you can see the "first resurrection" is a long-running "daily sacrifice" which first began with Abel. And the "living dead" are men on earth in their normal circumstances on earth, Revelation 13:4-7.
