Thanks Richard, and that is exactly what I am trying to convey to Carrie that Jesus was a Jew but did not have pure Jewish blood but this does not mean jesus was a Gentile. I guess Carrie must have been very disappointed for she expected Jesus to have pure Jewish blood...hmmm...unless of course if God purified Jesus blood to be 100% pure Jewish blood. But what does it really matter even if a person does not have pure Jewish Blood? We are God's people the moment we accepted Christ and become a Christian regardless of what blood we have.

    Hope this helps Carrie.

    Many Blessings.

    Cheow,

Yes, I am SO disappointed that Jesus wasn't a pure bred. I guess that only matters for cats and dogs, huh? I sure wish the futurists that hold that the Jews are "more special and the chosen ones" knew it.

    Hey there my friend,

I think there are two essential points:

    1) There is no such thing as "pure Jewish blood"

    2) A Jew is DEFINED by a covenant relation to God.

Of course, there is also an ethnic definition of a Jew (or more accurately Israelite) meaning "carnal son of Isaac." But Scripture makes it clear that God never gave any promises to the carnal sons of Abraham. All the promises of God are for the children of promise and are inherited by faith only.

There are now no "Jews" in the Biblical sense because the first covenant no longer exists so there is nothing to define them. It has been superseded by the New Covenant by the death of the Testator, Christ. This is why the Dispensational system that invents a future for carnal Israel is so profoundly contrary to the plain teaching of Holy Scripture.

What? The Messiah shares genes with the mongrel human race? I thought he was the pure blood founder of the White Aryan Nation! What a scandal! All real Christians know that the Gospel is based on our carnal fleshly descent. It sounds like you are spiritualizing the Gospel. I take it literally!

Whoa!!! I think I got a bite! Does this mean your group "all Israel" of Romans 11:26 "has to be pure ethnic Israelite......no mixing"??

If so, we won't need a very big bus to load them up when "all Israel shall be saved".

You are dismantling your own theory of massive, future, national salvation of "Jews" here TF.

Forget the bus. We wouldn't need a bicycle built for two!

    Don't you think that........your comments are;
    a. demeaning,
    b. full of criticism,
    c. supercilious,
    d. all of the above.

They certainly cannot be taken in ........"love".......unless, of course,
you have a new definition of "love"........i.e............criticising your adversary to the point of agreement with your philosophy of truth.

Shame on you......you take the spirit out of spiritual debate.

    Hey there Joel,

I think you omitted an option:

    e. Hilarious!

You need to lighten up dude.

You and I have been discussing these things for over three years and I have gotten to know you pretty well. And what have I learned? Well, I've learned that you are a very kind and loving person. A true peacemaker who wants the best for everyone in this forum. You have contributed a lot to our discussion and we have been blessed by your presence.

But I've also learned that you have a HUGE problem admitting when you are wrong about certain things, and when I prove by Scripture that you are wrong you get angry and claim that I am "forcing" you to agree with me and then you quit the conversation without ever admitting the truth. I consider this absurd. It's like we are talking about math and you think I am "forcing" you to believe 2 + 2 = 4.

You have been pushing a large body of non-biblical doctrines Joel. That's fine. You can believe what you want. But you can't insist that your beliefs are derived from the Bible if they are not, and it's ridiculous for you to get angry when someone happens to point that out, isn't it?
    All the very best,

    Richard

    Hi Joel,
I apologize for upsetting you with the tone of some of my posts. Richard is right, you are a very kind brother in Christ. We have never met, but I can tell by your posts that you have been blessed with a gentle, compassionate spirit. I admire that in you.

Please do not allow my sometimes sarcastic and blunt style (humorous even?) to get in the way of our discussions. I'm a Jersey guy, and sometimes I forget that it could be taken to be meanspirited - which is not the intent at all.

That being said, the nature of these forums is to challenge OUR OWN understandings by engaging others who are hopefully open to share and exchange what God has taught them.

The hardest yet most important element to successful dialogues and ultimately learning more about our Lord and how we can be better servants for Him is to enter the discussion with the humility that I MIGHT BE WRONG.

When this element is missing from one side, it is very frustrating and almost never yields fruit.

It should be clear to all here at BW that our 'fiesty administrator' Richard has vigorously studied Scripture with a passion only the Lord can instill, and has been blessed with a brilliant mind. Yet, I believe he honestly approaches EVERY issue with the thought that HE MIGHT BE WRONG. He will follow or lead anyone as deep as they want to go into the Scriptures to "see if it is so". His tenacity and patience is mind-boggling. That, and his spirit of hospitality is what makes the BW a very unique forum. I have learned much from you all here.

But he (and I) have little patience for unsupported opinions. We have been bombarded with too many of those over the years. This is why I have enjoyed our discussions here Joel, (although we sometimes reach an impass) because you are willing to support your views with Scripture.

Again, I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my posts.

    Peace to you,
    Dave
