Shabbat - In the Begining

The 'existence' of SHABBAT / SABBATH is seen in the very first word of Scripture 'in the beginning: ' BRAShYT.
The first letter of the written Word is BEYT/house.. When BEYT is prefixed to a Word it means 'in'. In this case BEYT is prefixed to the word RShYT which means 'firstfruit'.

I am finding that SHABBAT / SABBATH is not so much ON a day, and that's not to say that it isn't, but moreso what is IN a day - first - what marks this day - what this day consists of. And while we are at this, note the significance of 3 throughout the studies on Shabbat.

Genesis 1:1 (3/GIMEL / CAMEL)
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

This touches on something I have meant to write about for a long time - the anagrams of the first word.

Its position at the Head of God's House of His Word is expressed in the anagram Rosh Bet = Head of the House.

And what kind of House is it? It is Bet Asher, a Blessed House, or House of Blessings!

In it we find God's Esh Brit, a Fiery Covenant or a Covenant of Fire .

And in it we find Avi Sharath, the Father (source) of all Christian ministry.

The Sabbath was 'concealed' - 'in the beginning' - B'reshit - but tells a 'revealed truth even in the first presentation of concealment - admonishing us to B dwell in Sh revealed T truth. Ephesians 4:1

There is only ONE Sabbath - the witness and testimony of a life that has Jesus Christ as its center. The focus on a 'day' in the 'world's economy' is a distraction to the truth conveyed by the 'rest of the Sabbath.' If we focus on what 'this group does' versus 'what this other group does' - we miss the message of Christ.

First, as you know, I do not believe that the phrase "Christian Sabbath" has any meaning in the sense you suggest. So why would I create a thread for something I don't believe exists?

Second, I think you have misunderstood how forums are managed, my friend. There is absolutely no "slight" or "insult" or "disrespect" implied when a new thread is created from another thread. On the contrary, the new thread is an honor that gives a special place to the new idea. If we didn't split threads like that, then the content of the thread would move far far away from the theme implied by its title, and it would disrupt the flow of the original conversation. So its just really good management practice to give primary topics their own threads.

Now as for Shalag's work on the meaning of the Hebrew Letters in the first word of the Bible, I do believe that the proper place for that thread is here in the "Hebrew Alphabet and Language" forum, since that is the primary focus of her post. Your ideas concerning how Christians are supposed to put themselves under the Old Testament Sabbath Laws is a matter of Hermeneutics and Theology, would you not agree?

Hope that clears things up. I am convinced that 90% of all disputes are based on simple and innocent misunderstandings. I hope such will never interrupt our friendship.

As I researched this Word - ceasing from the works (Romans 3, Galatians 3) of the law in order to abide in Sabbath rest - what I 'saw' as a cause of unrest/broken Sabbath peace 'in the beginning' was 'ishshah's' desire (being under submission to the Word of God) to be 'as a master (as Jehovah God), a ruler, but as a 'law unto oneself' rather than being 'as a master (as Jehovah God), ruling through submission, as a servant.

Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

To place oneself 'as God' - 'above' the Word of God, (above the law), one becomes 'a law unto himself', then 'under law'. And as under law, dominated by the law, and dominating by law. By abiding in God's Word - serving truth, the truth sets free (John 8:32) to serve in the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus - the Sabbath rest (John 14:6) who showed 'the way, the truth, and the life' - as the 'work of faith - 2701'

She B - dwells in the Sh - fire - the revelation of Jehovah in Jesus Christ - and His resurrection from the T cross- which is the seal of faith.

The GIMEL / CAMEL, integral to Shabbat, in Hebrew thought, is noted for its long neck enabling it to 'see from afar'. It is also noted for its capacity to 'store water / MEM' within itself. The camel is first mentioned in Genesis (book 1) verse 12 = [13/ MEM/water] in relation to the possessions of Abraham. In *[1] Genesis 24 Abraham is well advanced in age and sends for his 'oldest servant' who rules over all Abraham has and he sends this servant with '10 camels' on a journey to find a wife for his son Isaac, [one who laughs at/mocks death]. I believe the 'complete(d)' fulfillment of 'Sabbath rest' - is seen in the choosing of Rebecca - the (soon to be) 'revealed daughter' (evident from these verses) as a bride for Abraham's son Isaac. It appears as a 'type and shadow' of what God is planning as 'Sabbath holiness'.

Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.

"Only bring not my son thither again seems to resound in Hebrews 6 as it addresses the foundational doctrine in Christ as 'repentance from dead works' and goes on to say that those who have 'tasted the heavenly gift' and the power of the 'age to come' "if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame." This appears to be the warning the Galatians were charged with - that they have tasted the heavenly gift but are returning to 'dead works'. Now in the gospel of Matthew following the high Sabbath crucifixion - we see a remnant - as the camel - even 3 women - looking from afar:

I find it intersting that the remnant of GML has as one of it's first witnesses of Jesus Christ resurrection - Mary Magdalene - GDL. M/ wisdom revealing (Jesus) the D/ door in the remnant who enters and ministers in the Sabbath rest, and most specifically in the woman whom Jesus cast out the 'seven devils.'

In *[8] Genesis 24:10 this servant takes 10 of Abraham's camel's and departs on his journey. My thought here is that he takes '10' - why not 12 - but 10. In Genesis 18:32 Abraham argues to 'save the city' for the 'sake of ten' and in future times 'ten tribes separate from Judah and are taken captive. It's interesting that there are '10'.. Ten also is indicative of those 'born'. Nine months of pregnancy - then laboring in birth.

In Genesis 24:14 He then makes a request to God to establish the woman's identity. Notice here, that if the woman is 'unwilling to follow' - the servant is clear of his 'oath'.

Considering heaven is the 'coexistence' of fire and water, our God, a consuming fire, pouring out the water of the Word (thru Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son) - that God's will - that it 'is on earth as it is in heaven'-fire and water - God sent His Word made flesh (Jesus,water) to be complete - Sabbath - with the 'daughter of fire'. Also consider SAMEK symbolizing the wedding ring - seen in the 'galloping horse'. Note that Rebecca, [as a 'hobbled horse'] is born of Bethuel, a man of God, a dweller in God, who is destroyed of God (Christ, the cross) , who was 'son of the queen [the 'Holy Jerusalem'],
who was wife of Nahor, [the snorting (of horses] , Abraham's brother.

Now the young woman was very beautiful to behold, a virgin; no man had known her. And she went down to the well, filled her pitcher, and came up.
