Judges, Joel, Colossians

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

As is common knowledge amongst all Biblical scholars, the Number Seven is used throughout Scripture to represent the ideas of fulness and completion. This manifests in the appearance of the Book of Colossians on Spoke 7 of the Wheel. Note that both fulness and complete appear in the verse quoted above. The sidebar lists a few of the significant "alls" found in this little book.

This great theme of Colossians has not gone unnoticed by previous Biblical scholars. For example, J. Sidlow Baxter, in his magnum opus Exploring the Book categorized the dominant themes of each book of the Bible. Concerning Colossians, he defined its dominant theme as revealing "Christ the fulness of God to us" [emphasis in the original]. He then devoted nearly three pages to "the doctrine of the Fulness." The significance of this can not be overstated. Though Baxter came closer to discovering the structure of the Wheel than any other author I have ever read, there is absolutely no hint in any his writings that he recognized the geometrical relation between Colossians and the Number Seven. His witness to the theme of fulness in Colossians is therefore unbiased.
