Spoke 2 - Beyt - Christ our Passover

Spoke 2

Exodus, Jeremiah, I Corinthians

Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

I Corinthians 5.6

The great symbol of our redemption through Christ, the Passover Lamb, is established in the Second Book, Exodus (chapter 12). It integrates with the nature of the Second Person of the Godhead, and His sacrifice for us, as it is written (Exodus 4.22):

And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn: And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

This verse contains the first declaration of God's Son found in Scripture. It is deeply integrated with the Second Psalm and the nature of God the Son and many Beyt KeytWords such as (Ben, Son), (Bokher, Firstborn), and (Barakh, Blessing), as discussed in The Structure of Exodus.

We also have a KeyLink between Exodus and I Corinthians based on the Passover Lamb. Searching the entire KJV for all verses containing the set (Passover, Sacrifice*, Leaven) [Verify] yields exatly two verses; the one quoted from I Corinthians above, and this one from Exodus 34,25:

Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.

This is the essence of Exodus - the Redemption wrought through the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God - our Passover. Theology is reiterated by God in the geometry of His Holy Word. Praise Him for His awesome Wisdom!
